'Counting On': Are Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar Really as Happy as They Claim?

JimBob and Michelle Duggar claim to have a fairytale marriage. The couple, whomet while in high school, were married before Michelle turned 18 years old.Since their wedding day in 1984, the couple has built a media empire, welcomed19 children, and are rapidly adding grandchildren to their tribe. While thecouple insists that they have a happy, healthy partnership, there is someevidence to the contrary. So, are Jim Bob and Michelle as happilymarried as they claim?

A body language expert is concerned by Michelle’s subservience

RadarOnline sat down with a body language expert in 2018 to analyzethe relationship between Jim Bob and Michelle. The expert pointed out a few criticalproblems with the way Michelle and Jim Bob interact. First, she notes that Michelle’sbody language indicates that she is entirely subservient to Jim Bob and regularlylooks to him for approval. She also notes that the fake voice suggests arresteddevelopment. For Jim Bob’s part, the expert notes he often talks over Michelleand doesn’t appear to respect her, based on his behavior and body language.

The expert’s analysis seems spot-on, based on what fansknow of the couple. Jim Bob has always been a bit of a camera hog, and Michelleis incredibly eager to please. Back in 2012, she received a makeover, and hermain concern was whether or not Jim Bob would like it. She noted that she wantsto keep herhair in a fashion that is pleasing to Jim Bob. The statement concerned somefans.

Michelle’s advice to make oneself “joyfully available” is problematic

Michelle shocked fans when she once wrote that a womanshould make herself “joyfullyavailable” to her husband. In short, she believes that the secret to ahealthy, happy marriage is being available for intimacy whenever the husbandwants it, regardless of how the wife might be feeling.

Michelle and Jim Bob’s daughter, Jill Duggar, offeredsimilar advice in a blog post that shocked fans. Jill suggested that marriedcouples should prioritizeintimacy between four and five times per week. The Duggar kids are notallowed to be alone with a member of the opposite sex before getting married,so hearing Michelle and Jill speak so openly about it shocked many followers.

There is a problem with the advice both Michelle and Jilldull out, though. Neither is considering the needs of individual people. Bothwomen make the assumption that all men are sex-crazedand that all women must simply go along with it. The thought pattern can createserious resentment and feelings of inequality, which can’t possibly lead to ahappy marriage in the long run.

The pair will never divorce, though

While JimBob and Michelle may not be as happily married as they claim, the odds ofthem ever parting ways are slim. The religious sect that the family belongs toshuns couples who choose to divorce, for any reason. Within the IBLP,divorce is not considered acceptable under any circumstances, but RecoveringGrace alleges a member of the sect may use separation as a way to stepaway.

Even if Michelle wanted to step away from her marriage, would it be feasible for her? Based on what DerickDillard has said, Jim Bob holds the purse strings in the family.  With no discernible skills outside the home,Michelle would have a nearly impossible time trying to make it on her own.Frankly, it would appear the mother of 19 doesn’t even think that’s an option,or at the very least, she seems happy enough to stick it out.

Neighbours

10Peach, 6.30pm

I never tire of the way the nearly 35 years of drama in Erinsborough rests almost entirely on people making bad decisions. That, and unlikely natural disasters. And so it proves as Neighbours works its way toward its conclusion for 2019. As an occasional visitor, there's still plenty to enjoy. Like Tim Robards. Tim Robards having what appears to be an adult son. (That strikes me, for some reason, as exquisitely humorous.)

Veteran Neighbours Alan Flectcher (Karl Kennedy) and Jackie Woodburne (Susan Kennedy).Credit:Justin McManus

Rob Mills' character's transformation from evil to delightful. (Clearly no one was buying him as the former.) And the unchanging nature of Erinsborough elders Karl and Susan. In what's a pretty gentle episode by Neighbours standards, Finn's mother makes some startling revelations. And there's a thing about cryptocurrency.

A guest at Disney World was caught on camera climbing on stage and disturbing an attraction mid-ride.

DISNEYLAND'S HAUNTED MANSION TO CLOSE FOR MONTHS-LONG RESTORATION

In footage of the incident, which reportedly took place Saturday, a young man is seen standing on stage of the Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress at the park’s Magic Kingdom, using a fake butter churn during a scene in the 1900s section. Seconds later, another young male guest is seen approaching him from behind and trying to drag him off stage.

The person using the butter churn then falls to the floor face down and refuses to move while the other guest walks off, leaving him behind. However, he eventually returns to try once again to drag him off stage. At the end of the nearly 30-second clip, a woman approaches the pair and they both seem to leave the ride.

Disney World did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but according to reports, other park visitors were unable to exit the performance for three further showings. It was also reported that the young man damaged a prop.

Arsenal go to West Ham on worst run for 42 years.. but their incredible Monday record can get them back to winning ways – The Sun

ARSENAL go to West Ham in the midst of their worst run of form in 42 years – but their incredible Monday record can get them back to winning ways.

The Gunners have now gone nine games without a win, their worst run since 1977 and look completely devoid of confidence.

The North Londoners have already sacked Unai Emery, replacing him with Freddie Ljungberg on an interim basis.

But the results have got even worse under the former "Invincible" – slipping to a 2-2 draw with Norwich and 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton in his two games in charge.

In fact, Ljungberg's strugglers were utterly outclassed by the Seagulls and can count themselves lucky to lose by just the one goal.

Arsenal sit 11th in the Premier League going into their game with the Hammers, with a -2 goal difference and just 19 points from their 15 matches.

Talking about the billion dollar grossing movie which hits cinemas next week, Dwayne says: “The first movie was amazing – it really took off."

"With the success of that, we wanted to come back even bigger for part two so we all committed to each other that the story would be right and that the creativity would expand the Jumanji universe.”

The former professional wrestler will also be starring in Disney movie Jungle Cruise, which is set to be released next year.

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart stars alongside in Dwayne Johnson in the newest Jumanji film and the comedian speaks about playing an avatar in the film.

“The thought of it is challenging, but when you embrace the idea, it’s actually more fun than anything and we had the opportunity to elevate the first movie we did."

He continued: "The challenge was to come back and outdo that success.”

Asked about watching the finished film, Kevin says, “It’s unbelievable, everyone brought their A-game to it,” adding, “I prefer green screen to actual animals – I have a certain respect for them because we don’t know what they are thinking!”

The 40-year-old was involved in major car accident in September in which he suffered major back injuries, but has been recovering well.

Harry Styles

In a TV exclusive, Harry Styles appears on the Graham Norton show to perform his new song 'Adore You'.

He also joins the sofa to have a chat about his new his new album and upcoming world tour.

His world tour dubbed 'Love On Tour', will begin in April 2020 in Birmingham, before heading to North and South America and other parts of Europe.

Jodie Whittaker

First female Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker comments on filming the show in South Africa and dealing with critters and insects.

She said: “Unbeknownst to me, the crew was filming a huge sac spider, and no one told me how terrifying and dangerous it was, and it crawled down my face and inside my costume – I absolutely bricked it and can’t repeat what I said.

The 37-year-old then shockingly revealed: "I found out after that I could have died! It was horrific.”

The actress also told a funny story of an experience on the tube, when an old man did not recognise her.

"I was standing on the platform with my empty reusable cup and an elderly gentleman walked towards me and put his arm into my space and I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ He said sorry and explained he was trying to put some money in my cup! He had no idea who I was!”

Michael Palin

The actor spoke to Graham about his recent knighthood and the reaction of John Cheese and Terry Gilliam, with the latter wishing him congratulations.

The 76-year-old who had heart surgery in September, filmed a new show called Michael Palin in North Korea, and he was asked about any issues filming in the country.

“It was very difficult setting up and we had to have approvals on everything. We wanted to see people in real environments, which was a hard battle to win.

We were watched by a ring of minders who made sure we didn’t see things we shouldn’t see. They wanted to see everything we filmed, but actually didn’t ask to cut anything – they were quite relaxed by the end.”

He recalled his experience when introducing himself to his Korean guide who was unaware of anything happening in the outside world.

At the moment, 89 Eurostar services to Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Brussels have already been cancelled between December 5 and 10 – some to take into account the knock on effects of the strike.

Twenty services have been cancelled today alone, while 29 are cancelled tomorrow.

Over the weekend, 11 services are cancelled on Saturday, and 17 on Sunday.

Next week, six trains have been cancelled on both Monday and Tuesday.

And for local trains, you can check the SNCF website here.

Can you get a refund or exchange your tickets?

Those who are affected by the cancellations are able to exchange their tickets for another day or get a full refund.

Eurostar said: "As the situation is now clearer, exchanges during the strike period are possible, although availability is very limited. We do still advise that you travel outside of the strike period.

"Should you choose to travel between the 5 December and 10 December, we would ask you to check the likely impact for your journey, including any onward connection, before making your exchange."

Remortgaging on a Friday could cost you HUNDREDS of pounds extra – The Sun

HOMEOWNERS remortgaging on a Friday or over the weekend face forking out hundreds of pounds in extra interest, an investigation by MoneySavingExpert has found.

This is because once your deal expires, you can only move to a new one with a different lender the next working day.

While you wait, you'll be moved to your current lender's standard variable rate (SVR).

These can be up to five times more expensive than the cheapest mortgage rates, according to MoneySavingExpert.

Depending on the size of your loan, you could be forced to fork out hundreds of pounds in extra interest.

For example, if your mortgage deal ends on a Friday, your new one won't actually start until the following Monday, meaning you'll be on an expensive SVR for two days.

If you have a £150,000 mortgage with a typical SVR rate of 4.99 per cent and a new mortgage rate of 1.29 per cent, this would cost you an extra £30.42 in interest – £15.21 per day.

If you're instead switching a £650,000 mortgage, the figure would come in at £131.78 over two days.

Worse yet, if your deal was set to end over Easter, you'd have to pay £263.56 in extra interest over four non-working days.

The issue only affects homeowners who switch to another lender, as it'll need to transfer the debt via a solicitor.

But it could affect thousands of Brits, as around 9,000 homeowners remortgage to new lenders every week.

How do you find the best mortgage deals?

IF you have or haven't got a deposit lined-up to buy a home, shopping around for a mortgage is the same.

Websites like Moneysupermarket and Moneyfacts have mortgage sections so you can compare costs and all the banks and building societies have their offers available on their sites too.

If you're getting confused by all the deals on the market, it might be worth you speaking to a mortgage broker, who will help find the best mortgage for you.

A broker will typically cost between £300 and £400 but could help you save thousands over the course of your mortgage.

You'll also have to decide on if you want a fixed-deal where the interest your charged is the same for the length of the deal or a variable mortgage, where the amount you pay can change depending on the Bank of England Base Rate.

Remember, that you'll have to pass the lender's strict eligibility criteria too, which will include affordability checks, and looking at your credit file.

You may also need to provide documents like utility bills, proof of benefits, your last three month's payslips, passports and bank statement.

It can be tricky to avoid the extra cost, as many mortgage deals come with hefty charges if you pay off more than agreed earlier.

But to save money, David Hollingworth of L&C Mortgages advises homeowners to start looking for a new deal three months before your current one is due to expire.

He told The Sun: "The key thing here is for borrowers to be well prepared ahead of time.

"Understanding exactly when the existing deal will come to an end will help borrowers minimise any time on SVR but shifting before the early repayment charge ends could prove costly.

"Lenders will often offer an alternative deal to existing customers at the end of a deal but it’s important for borrowers to compare that with the open market as there may well be a more attractive deal on offer from another lender."

While Johanna Noble, money editor at MoneySavingExpert, said: "It's always worth checking what day of the week the end date falls on when you're looking for a new mortgage deal.

"That way, you'll be able to factor in any potential extra costs.

"In order to treat customers fairly, it's also vital that mortgage lenders are transparent about the extra cost."

Getting a new five-year fixed mortgage before the election could save homeowners £4,350 a year.

Meanwhile, these are the secret mortgage deals that banks won't advertise but are offering to loyal customers.

In March, a new tool launched which could knock thousands of pounds off your mortgage bill.

Model, 28, found dead on beach as heartbroken friends pay tribute to her as 'fantastic mum'

A MODEL who was found dead on a Devon beach has been described as a "fantastic" mum by heartbroken friends.

Holly Capron, 28, was reported missing on November 25 after being distressed.

The mum rang friends while she was in an Exeter park alone the night before and was reported as being "distraught".

It was thought Holly was last seen in the Brixham area, and tragically her body was found at St Mary's Bay on December 1 at about 11.15am.

Holly, who had a two-year-old son named Stanton, had launched a mental health support group on Facebook just weeks before her death.

One event for the group was described as "a meet for warriors (People) with mental health so we can support each other as there isn't enough help around".

She was a part-time model and recently worked for Devon Cliffs in Exmouth.

Holly moved to Exeter about a year ago after living in Plymouth.

'FULL OF LIFE'

Her close friends are trying to come to terms with the sudden loss as they remembered her as being "full of life".

Sophie Bowlas, 25, of Plymouth, met Holly while on a photo shoot together.

She told DevonLive: “She was a little pocket rocket who was full of energy and life. She was always smiling and laughing, even when life was hard."

Sophie added there was "never a dull moment" with Holly and she was a "good wild child" who loved going to gigs.

Sophie said that Holly did have a history of mental illness and had gone missing in the past but only for a few days.

She said: "It’s been a shock to everyone, especially right on top of Christmas. It’s her family I feel for."

Tony Pattinson, who is a photographer and close friend of Holly for 10 years, said she was a "fantastic mum" and a "real tonic to be around", but she was "plagued by demons".

Cherish Metters, another pal of Holly, said she had a "close sister friendship" with her and described her as a person she "looked up to and idolised".

An inquest will be held into her death.
